Cello playing, sneaky naps and a very special wedding

Created by Isabel one year ago

Nick played the cello. This was my instrument when I was growing up and I enjoyed playing the cello with Nick in the barn at Sheriff Hutton. I recall many childhood moments at Sheriff Hutton - the ride on lawn mower was such a thrill when we were little, bonfires in the Autumn and walks to the stream for Poos sticks. Croquet on the lawn outside the kitchen! I remember a Christmas where we had a mass game of racing demon and a wonderful game of 'clumps'. On many of these visits there would be a comical moment when it was Nick's turn and we would find him quietly dozing.

Nick and I attended Emma and Tim's wedding. I was on my gap year and Nick traveled to attend. We were the main UK representatives from the family and thoroughly enjoyed the celebration. Nick was such good fun, witty, kind, generous. Aaron and I have recently moved to Sheffield and had hoped to see Sue and Nick very soon. We are glad he lived his life to the full right until the end and we will miss him.
