Nick's funeral will be at St Chad's Church, Campleshon Road, South Bank, York, YO23 1EY at 12 noon on Friday 12 August. Flowers: family only, please. There will be a wake in the church hall afterwards.

Please do not feel you need to wear black: colourful clothes, particularly ties or socks for men, are very much encouraged.

Update - 26 July

Dear friends

It is two weeks today since Nick died whilst swimming beside the yacht where he, Graham and his sailing friends were moored near Noto an island north of Helsinki in the Baltic Sea. The autopsy suggests he had heart problems, although the water was warm.

We are overwhelmed by the generosity of you all and for the many letters, cards messages and prayers we have received.

Thank you. This website which Liz set up is a great comfort.

It will be at least two, possibly four weeks, before we can fix a date for the funeral. The death certificate should arrive at the end of this week and then he can come to England but there may be further checks here.

I appreciate many of you will be away over August. We hope to catch up in the autumn.

Nick died doing what he loved. he had a strong faith in a God of love.
